Looking Back on my First Car: The 1964 Ford Falcon Futura

Quarantine sucks.  Can't go out.  Can't go to the garage.  Just sitting around with a whole lot of nothing to do....and time...lots of time.

The bad news is I have reached the end of the Internet.
The good news is I found pictures of my first car: The 1964 Ford Falcon Futura.

I was around 15 when my dad and I got this car and it was our first father/son project.  It was in pretty bad shape and needed a full restoration, but oddly enough I don't remember rust being that big of an issue.  The previous owner must have started on it and, like so many projects out there, life just got in the way.  Lucky for us.

This car came with the 289 small block V8, a rare lightning rod shifter, and just about everything needed to get it going minus the fluff....but who needs all that chrome anyway.

Dad and I put a lot of work into it.  Of course, you know how teenagers are, so it was a lot more him than me.  And full disclosure; being so young, I didn't really have a true appreciation for the car and it was far from perfect...but I did have fun with it.  To this day I remember the few times I got it past 120...but that's a story for another day.

Enjoy the pics!
